regret that the letter signed by "Wireless", recently

published by us, should have been considered as a personal

attack on the Acting District Officer (South), No such

attack was intended, the letter being merely comment on the

administration of the Southern District during the last 20

years by many District Officers and others. We have no

grounds for believing that the present officer's administra-

tion has been in any way different from that of his predeces-

sora who were included in the reference.
